2007 is to be a special year for UCLA tennis, as Bruins are enormously talented, experienced team, returning from last year’s Pac-10 championsip and NCAA final-8 team, led by 2006 NCAA singles champion Ben Kohlloeffel.
UCLA as a school leads the nation with 99 NCAA team championship titles, and this team is aiming to claim the 100th title (FYI, back in 1932 the tennis team won the first national championship title for UCLA, and won the title sixtten times, the most in the nation).

Update: 5/19/07: Bruins’ season came to the end today, losing to #1 Georgia. 4-0 in the quarter final of the NCAA tournament. The match was a lot closer than the score indicates, but despite several chances, Bruins failed to get on board.
Nonetheless, this is 19th straight year Bruins made it to at least to quarter finals and overall, it was a succsessful year. We just had a ultimately high hope...

Though the team competition is over, there still is individual championship tournament left, where Ben Kohlloeffel will defend his singles title, and Ben-Gruendler pair will challenge the doubles title, starting next Wednesday, May 23.
